portalbromo.com – Selain dikenal sebagai Kota Seribu Taman, Kota Probolinggo juga dikenal dengan jargon Kota Bayuangga, artinya Kota bayu (angin), anggur dan mangga. Mangga merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang cukup potensial untuk dikembangkan. Tak hanya produk segar, kota ini juga memproduksi olahan dari buah mangga.

Peluang ini ditangkap oleh Pemkot Probolinggo melalui Dinas Koperasi, Usaha Mikro, Perdagangan dan Perindustrian (DKUPP) Kota Probolinggo, yang menggagas pelaksanaan Bimbingan Teknis (Bimtek) Pengembangan Mutu Produk Sentra Olahan Buah Mangga di Kota Probolinggo.

Mangga dari Kota Probolinggo, dikenal sampai ke mancanegara karena memiliki rasa yang khas dan berbeda dengan mangga di daerah lain. Saat panen raya, persediaan buah manga yang melimpah dan dijual dengan harga yang relatif murah, membuat Pemkot Probolinggo terus melakukan upaya dan langkah inovatif sehingga memiliki nilai jual yang lebih tinggi.

“Kondisi ini patut disyukuri, karena buah ini adalah salah satu oleh-oleh yang ditunggu-tunggu dari Kota Probolinggo,” ucap Kepala DKUPP Kota Probolinggo Fitriawati, saat ditemui di sela-sela acara.

Fitri menambahkan, pemberdayaan olahan mangga ditujukan untuk pengembangan produk pengolahan pangan lokal, yang penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan penampilan dan kualitas. Bimtek pengolahan manga, dirasa perlu dilakukan agar menjadi aneka produk yang tahan lama dan memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi berbasis sumber daya lokal. Yang ditinjau dari sisi konsumen, pangan yang dikonsumsi menjadi lebih beragam, bergizi, bermutu dan aman.

Bimtek ini diikuti 20 pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) yang bergerak di bidang kuliner. Jumat (15/10) siang, Ketua Tim Penggerak (TP) PKK Kota Probolinggo Aminah Hadi Zainal Abidin berkenan meninjau secara langsung pelaksanaan bimtek di komplek Taman Manula, Jalan Soekarno Hatta.

Di lokasi, Aminah tampak berbaur dengan peserta dan sesekali ikut mengolah aneka menu olahan buah berwarna orange itu. “Mau dibuat nugget mangga, serbuk mangga untuk minuman, buat campuran biskuit mangga sama selai mangga untuk isiannya nastar,” ujar Fike, salah satu peserta bimtek, saat ditanya oleh istri Wali Kota Probolinggo perihal ragam adonan yang tengah disiapkan itu.

Aminah mengaku sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan ini. Pasalnya, sebagai kota yang dikenal dengan ikon mangganya ini, limpahan stok buah mangga pada saat panen raya, dan perlakuan masyarakat terhadap buah ini, belum terlalu banyak yang tahu.

Aminah berharap, peserta dapat mengimplementasikan dan menjadikan buah mangga sebagai produk oleh-oleh khas Kota Probolinggo dan sekaligus dapat menambah income, untuk meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga. “Nah dengan adanya pelatihan ini, kita bisa mengolah mangga dengan sajian lain yang lebih tahan lama dan ekonomis,” pungkasnya.
