Wali Kota Probolinggo Rukmini membuka secara langsung Sosialisasi Gender dan Keterwakilan Perempuan Legislatif Tahun 2018, yang diselenggarakan oleh Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan Perlindungan Anak dan Keluarga Berencana (DPPPAKB) Kota Probolinggo, di gedung Puri Manggala Bakti Kantor Pemerintah Kota Probolinggo, Rabu (8/8).

Nampak hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut Wakil Ketua DPRD Kota Probolinggo, Muklas Kurniawan, para asisten beserta staf ahli, kepala Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) Kota Probolinggo, camat, lurah, Ketua Dharma Wanita, Anggota Organisasi Perempuan serta narasumber dari DPP Kaukus Perempuan Politik Indonesia, Aliyah dan Universitas Panca Marga, Judi Suharsono.

Kepala DPPPAKB Kota Probolinggo, Sukam mengatakan acara sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang gender serta memberikan motivasi perempuan di bidang politik dan organisasi perempuan. Sosialisasi ini diikuti sebanyak 300 peserta terdiri dari calon legislatif, anggota organisasi perempuan, ketua dan anggota TP PKK serta perwakilan Ketua RT dan RW Kelurahan Se- Kota Probolinggo.

Wali Kota Rukmini mengatakan kesetaraan gender ini, kaum ibu dalam posisi kodratnya. Keterwakilan perempuan pada dunia legislatif (caleg) di Kota Probolinggo tidak ada peningkatan. Partisipasi aktif perempuan dalam politik di Kota Probolinggo masih jauh dari harapan. Sehingga masih dirasakan kesenjangan antara laki-laki dan perempuan.

Menurutnya, untuk meningkatkan peran perempuan dibutuhkan pembangunan yang berwawasan gender sebagai bagian dari pembangunan nasional. Tujuannya untuk mewujudkan kesetaraan dan keadilan gender dalam kegiatan, khususnya di bidang politik.

“Pembangunan pendidikan politik perempuan perlu ditingkatkan baik dari segi organisasi maupun pemantapan pilar-pilar demokrasi melalui lembaga legislatif, eksekutif maupun yudikatif yang aspiratif dan pro terhadap kepentingan perempuan. Karena kuota ketentuan dan keterwakilan perempuan di kursi DPRD yang menentukan 30 persen untuk perempuan,” ujar Rukmini.

Ia juga berharap perempuan yang ada di Kota Probolinggo termotivasi untuk menjadi angota legislatif yang dapat memperjuangkan aspirasi perempuan yang berdampak meningkatnya kesejahteraan kaum perempuan khususnya dan masyarakat yang berdaya. “Mudah- mudahan perempuan di Kota Probolinggo maju, berdaya dan berhasil,” harapnya.(hum)
