Giat media gathering seakan sudah menjadi program tahunan Pemkot Probolinggo, terhitung sudah lima kali digelar sejak pertama diadakan tahun 2017 lalu.
Kali ini di tahun 2021 kota Surabaya menjadi jujukan Pemkot Probolinggo menggelar Media Gathering.
Digelar di Hotel Bumi Surabaya selama dua hari (8-9/4/2021), kegiatan bertema Komunikasi “Efektif Bagi Wartawan, Dan Peran Media Masa Pandemi” di hadiri kepala OPD hingga walikota Probolinggo Habib Hadi Zainal Abidin.
Plt. Kepala Dinas Komunikasi dan informatika (Diskominfo) Kota Probolinggo, Pujo Agung Satrio mengatakan, selain meningkatkan Sinergitas antara wartawan dan pemkot Probolinggo, Media Gathering merupakan wadah untuk menambah Ilmu para wartawan yang bertugas di wilayah kota Probolinggo.
“Selain menjaga sinergitas, Media Gathering juga sebagai wadah untuk menggali ilmu, dari para narasumber yang dihadirkan” kata Pujo.
Sementara itu Wali Kota Probolinggo, Hadi Zaenal Adibin menyampaikan peran media sangat Penting sebagai rujukan informasi. media juga sebagai rujukan utnuk peningkatan kerja di pemerintahanya.
“Peran serta Media dalam pembangunan pemerintah sangatlah penting, melalui media kita tau apa yang kurang dari yang kita kerjakan, melalui media pula masyarakat tau tentang kebijakan yang sudah kita lakukan” kata Walikota Probolinggo saat sambutan pembukaan Media Gathering 2021, (8/4/2021).
Pria yang juga pengasuh Ponpes Riyadlus Solihin, ketapang Probolinggo itu juga mengingatkan bahwa media memiliki peran yang vital dalam suatu pembangunan, Ia ( walikota ) berharap selalu mengutamakan chek and balance dalam penyajian berita.
“Saya sangat mengapresiasi kepada rekan media yang selalu medepankan chek and balance dalam penyajian berita”.
“Hal itu ( chek and balance ) memang sangat penting, kita kuatir karena karena kurang konfirmasi kepada pihak-pihak terkait, bisa memunculkan atau menggiring pembaca pada pada opini negatif”. Pungkasnya.
Digelar selama dua hari, Media Gathering kali ke lima ini diisi berbagai kegiatan yang tetap dalam tatanan Prokes.(mr)
