portalbromo.com – Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Lahan Basah Sedunia tahun 2022, Wali Kota Probolinggo Habib Hadi Zainal Abidin mengikuti aksi menanam 1000 Mangrove, Rabu (2/2) pagi di Pantai Permata Pilang. Kegiatan ini juga dilaksanakan dalam rangka restorasi dan rehabilitasi hutan mangrove untuk mensukseskan Presidensi G20 Indonesia.

Di depan peserta aksi yang terdiri dari pelajar sekolah Adiwiyata, mitra DLH, karyawan PT KTI dan pegawai pemkot, Wali Kota Habib Hadi mengatakan pentingnya hutan mangrove bagi kelestarian lingkungan di kawasan pesisir Kota Probolinggo. “Hutan mangrove ini merupakan salah satu lahan basah yang sangat penting bagi lingkungan karena melindungi tepi laut dari gelombang laut, mengurangi dampak banjir, menyerap polutan dan meningkatkan kualitas air,” jelasnya.

Direktur PT KTI Masaaki Hori yang mengikuti tanam mangrove menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari program KTI Peduli Lingkungan. “PT KTI pada dasarnya memiliki kebijakan perusahaan untuk melindungi lingkungan, kita ingin berkontribusi untuk pemulihan kondisi alam di Kota Probolinggo serta berkontribusi untuk sosial masyarakat disini,” ucapnya.

Kabid Pengendalian Pencemaran dan Kemitraan Lingkungan Hidup (P2KLH) DLH Neli, menerangkan selain mencegah abrasi pantai penanaman pohon ini bermanfaat untuk menjaga ekosistem di wilayah pesisir pantai. ”Agar supaya kualitas air laut juga terjaga kemudian ekosistem yang ada di laut juga bisa terjaga dengan adanya penanaman pohon mangrove semacam ini,” harapnya.

Adapun beberapa mitra DLH yang berpartisipasi pada agenda tersebut antara lain Paguyuban Penarik Gerobak Sampah Cekatan, Riang, Inovatif dan Amanah (PGS Ceria), Penyandang Cacat Peduli Lingkungan Kota Probolinggo (Pecel Koprol), Paguyuban Abang Becak Peduli Lingkungan, Komunitas Pelestari Keanekaragaman Hayati (Komtari Kehati), Paguyuban Peduli Sampah (Papesa) dan Forum Masyarakat Peduli Sungai (Formalis).

Sebagai mitra DLH, Ketua Formalis menilai bahwa Pantai Permata adalah wilayah konservasi sekaligus ikon Kota Probolinggo yang perlu untuk dirawat. “Kami peduli lingkungan sungai, karena ini area konservasi yang mana sebagai ikon Kota Probolinggo juga yaitu Pantai Permata, semoga masyarakat lainnya juga turut menjaga dan merawat,” kata Abdul Rohim.

Sementara itu, harapan agar gerakan tanam mangrove bisa dilaksanakan kembali, disampaikan oleh salah satu siswi kelas VII dari SMPN 6. “Kepengen nanti ada lagi, dengan teman-teman lainnya lebih banyak lagi,” terang Inneva yang saat itu berkesempatan menanam 4 bibit mangrove.

Bersama wali kota, hadir Sekda drg. Ninik Ira Wibawati, Kepala DLH Rachmadeta Antariksa, Kepala DPKPP Aries Santoso serta camat dan lurah setempat. (Mr)
